Gratitude & Inner life Protocol | Tier One & Tier Two

A structured prayer and practice protocol for clarity, emotional steadiness, and grounded leadership under pressure

You don’t need more information.

You likely already know what to do.

What’s missing is the ability to return to yourself consistently in the middle of a demanding life.

High performers are increasingly expected to operate with clarity, decisiveness, and emotional control while carrying sustained levels of internal pressure that rarely have space to be processed.

Most leaders don’t struggle with performance.

They struggle with what happens internally while they are performing.

  • constant cognitive load with no recovery rhythm

  • emotional fragmentation beneath a composed exterior

  • decision fatigue without inner clarity

  • disconnection from reflection, meaning, or spiritual grounding

  • a life that is highly structured externally, but unstructured internally

Over time, this creates a quiet but persistent drift. You function at a high level while losing access to your own interior life.

People in executive roles often put their own well-being last. There’s a deeply ingrained mindset that equates vulnerability with weakness, and that mindset can make it extremely hard for high-performing individuals to ask for help—even when they know they’re struggling.
— Amy Gagliardi, MD, associate medical director at The Pavilion

Most approaches to fix this problem fall into one of three categories:

  • More information (books, podcasts, frameworks)

  • More optimization (productivity systems, performance coaching)

  • More isolation (trying to “figure it out” alone)

None of these create an actual rhythm of inner life. They increase understanding, but not consistency. They improve performance, but not presence.

26% of executives report symptoms consistent with clinical depression, compared to 18% in the general workforce.

A 6-week guided protocol rooted in the Ignatian Examen, designed for those carrying high responsibility who want a more grounded inner life.

Through daily prayer and weekly guided sessions, this practice helps you slow down, reflect honestly, and reconnect your inner world with God in a consistent, sustainable rhythm.

This is not a course in information or theory. It is a lived rhythm of attention and reflection.

The focus is not doing more. You will more than likely start with doing less. Elimination of unessential attachments. Taking inventory of your daily routines and simplifing before anything new is added. It is learning to see more clearly.

This is designed for people who:

  • carry significant professional or leadership responsibility

  • operate at a high cognitive and emotional load

  • feel internally “on” but not internally steady

  • want consistency in prayer, reflection, or inner practice

  • are open to God, even if their practice is currently inconsistent or underdeveloped

What this is not:

  • therapy or clinical mental health treatment

  • performance coaching or productivity optimization

  • a passive course or content library

  • a quick fix for burnout or stress

You don’t need more knowledge.

There’s no shortage of books, podcasts, or frameworks explaining the “how.” I may even point you toward some of them. But my role is different: I’m here to practice this with you.

Think of a personal trainer, you don’t hire them to lecture you on exercise science. You hire them to help you stay consistent, to keep you honest, and to return you to what you already know matters.

In the same way, this is a steady companion for your inner life. You need a rhythm you can return to.

For where two or more gather in My name, there am I with them
— Matthew 18:20

How this works:

A fully personalized 1:1 version of the 6-week practice. Here is an base example:

Initial :30 Intake call: Discern fit + understand inner life + set tone of commitment.
Week 1:
Awareness (learning to pause)
Week 2: Gratitude (retraining attention)
Week 3: Emotional awareness (noticing inner movement)
Week 4: Honest reflection and confession (alignment & misalignment)
Week 5: Relational awareness (self, others, God)
Week 6: Integration (sustainable rhythm)
Extension or Maintenance options available: Spiritual Direction or Spiritual Discernment Sessions

You will receive a guided journal with simple prompts and practices. We will meet weekly (1 hour session) in a structured prayer and reflection space: silence and grounding, guided prayer (centered in God), reflection on the week’s patterns, naming internal dynamics without judgment, confession and setting direction for the week ahead.

This is not about interpretation or instruction. My role is to hold structure, guide attention, and support consistency so you can return to your own inner life with gratitude and clarity. My only ask from you is to do this with 100% honestly. This is not a performance, this is not about striving. This is meant to help you find God’s peace and presence, that can only be done through a posture of surrender and trust. I am here to walk with you.

What you can do in the meantime:

  • Start taking inventory of your commitments and time you give to things, noticing what is life giving, what is obligations and what is wasteful.

  • Make a list of negative emotions you notice come out of you, pride, anger, anxiety etc. then write down what caused them.

  • Schedule a sabbath and turn off all notifications and nonessential apps on your phone. (If you are not practicing sabbath, this will be a challenge, but will be something asked to commit to during the 6 weeks, so I encourage you to start it asap)
